Let’s Talk About Industrial Ceiling Fans

It's a fact that in spite of all the technologies that have been invented and introduced to the work environment, industrial ceiling fans still haven't been rendered obsolete. This means that big or small, if you own or manage a business, you most likely have a place for them either up front or in the back room.

Even if there already is a climate control and or ventilation system in place, you have to bear in mind that warm air rises and cold air will tend to settle. A fan will function to insure that warm air is driven down in the winter and that cool air is evenly distributed in the work area during the summer months.

New Blade Technology in Industrial Ceiling Fans

Hung fans also help with dust abatement in an enclosed work area.
So then what separates a standard fan from an industrial model? To start off, an industrial model should always have rust resistant blades. You see even in a mild climate, over time standard metal blades can begin to rust, which then creates drag.

Price and size are yet two more aspects where an industrial ceiling fan differs from a household model. For instance Westinghouse has a model 78127 that boasts a very wide 56 inch blade span, yet it carries a price tag in the area of $50, which is very affordable when compared to your average household model.

Another popular model is the Emerson EM HF948. Its blade span is 48 inches and it's hung with a simple J hook. A J hook is a system that requires that only the down rod be installed then the fan itself is simply hung up on the hook on the bottom using no screws. It's a great system that allows for easy raising or lowering of fan height.
