Is it a fan the people use to cool them off while they're hugging in front of it? Wrong! Even then, with this much clearance space, anyone approaching six feet in height can expect an unpleasant surprise of they should even raise their arms while standing under the fan.

However; in rooms with tall ceilings, a fan with a short down-rod installed up close to the ceiling may still be referred to as a hugger fan.
